Loerie Escape is our go-to glamping retreat tucked away in the wildlife-rich bushveld of Marloth Park, just 25 km from Kruger National Park’s Crocodile Bridge Gate. This self-catering gem blends comfort with the raw beauty of the African wild—think lions roaring in the distance, bush babies chattering at night, and giraffes strolling past your doorstep. We’ve stayed here time and again, drawn by its peaceful vibe and unbeatable location along the Crocodile River. It’s not just a stay; it’s a front-row seat to nature with all the homey touches we crave after a day in the bush.
Two en-suite bedrooms with queen beds, plus a daybed in the living area for kids or extra guests. The open-plan layout includes a fully equipped kitchen and cozy lounge, all cooled by air-conditioning—perfect for hot Mpumalanga days.

Families, couples, or small friend groups seeking an affordable bush escape with wildlife charm.
We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve stayed at Loerie Escape—it’s our happy place for a reason. There’s nothing like sipping wine by the pool as hippos grunt in the river or waking up to a kudu munching outside your window. It’s not fancy tents or five-star service, but that’s the charm: a comfy, unpretentious base where you feel immersed in the wild. The kids adore the daybed and chasing bush babies, while we recharge with the peace and quiet—just close enough to Kruger for a safari fix, but far enough to feel like a secret getaway.
